Letter from Pam

May 6, 2016

Dearest One,
As we prepare for our Association Day together on Saturday, August 6, 2016, let’s cherish the
message ringing through the Bible and our Leader’s writings of the presence and power of
God, God that is Love. In Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, Mary Baker Eddy
assures us, “’God is Love.’ More than this we cannot ask, higher we cannot look, farther we
cannot go.” (p. 6) This Love that is God, good, is revealed to us as deep, abiding, everlasting,
unconditional love for all His creation.

God’s love for you, His beloved child, has resonated in my thought throughout this year. Do
you realize how very essential you are to God? Among all the world’s treasures, there is you.
Held most dear. Irreplaceable. Appreciated. Loved, valued beyond measure, treasured. As the
idea of divine Love, you are unique, vital, priceless in every way.

This Love letter is sent from God to you. (I just wrote it down). Consider Love’s beautiful
harmonious plan for Her all-good, only-good creation. Know with humility that you are
immortal, – thus complete, whole, presently perfect in every way. Throughout each day
tenderly, gratefully, recognize your most vital relationship as the expression of God, man
inseparable from His Creator. One with God, you need never struggle for acceptance, or yearn
for value, place, or worth. Instead, you recognize that security, provision, home and heaven
are present forever within your spiritual consciousness. This is the truth of your being.
Your life represents all that is good, worthy, pure gold. Your grace, purity, and goodness light
up the room when you enter. Your Christly presence comforts those in need. Your unselfish life
brings hope and healing. Your generosity of Spirit transforms with love whatever your heart
touches. The intelligence you express offers others protection, perseverance, insight,
confidence.

As the purely spiritual idea of God, you include now and forever the most wonderful blessings,
for you know that your true nature, your life purpose, is to glorify God. Your life is the very
evidence that God is.

And Love is always assuring you, “There shall no evil befall thee, nor any plague come nigh
thy dwelling.” (Ps. 91) No evil called matter, material sense, disease, fear, age, heredity,
helplessness, limitation, vulnerability, shall come nigh thee. Accept this. You are safe in your
Father’s care, now, forever, always. No material belief, condition, or circumstance can separate
you from the love of Love. Know this. Feel and trust this promise. In obedience to our loved Leader,
we are clear that we are to defend our thought daily – from aggressive mental suggestions, such as intrusion,
distraction, fascination with or fear of materialism.

And we are not to forget nor to neglect our duty to God, to our Leader, and to mankind.
(Church Manual, page, 42.) This is so vital to our safety and progress!

For all the love that God has for us, what then, is our part? Christ Jesus made it very clear in
his life. We see and accomplish healing by our complete, absolute, radical devotion to God. As
Jesus lived, we live. We love God with all our heart and soul and mind,- and our neighbor as
ourself. Clearly understanding this, with the deepest humility and gratitude, live your life from
your love for God above all else. This resulted in Jesus’ ascension. His love for God was his
everything. Is it ours?

Nothing can ever separate you from your expression of divine Love. Gratefully, refuse to let
fear, doubt, selfishness, nor the distraction of the world’s ways, separate you from your desire
to understand and love God more. This heals you and your world.
Each day, in obedience to God, continue to let your life be the expression of Truth, of Life, and
of Love. Let the Mind of Christ be your consciousness. Let the Christ shine though you, and as
you, in all you think and do.

“See how very much our Father loves us, for he calls us his children, and that is what we are!
But the people who belong to this world don’t recognize that we are God’s children because
they don’t know him. Dear friends, we are already God’s children, but he has not yet shown us
what we will be like when Christ appears. But we do know that we will be like him, for we will
see him as he really is. And all who have this eager expectation will keep themselves pure, just
as he is pure.” 1st John 3. (New Loving Translation)

Today Love celebrates its creation. Today we rejoice with the greatest gratitude that we are all
God’s loved children! What a privilege!

Pam

Some thoughts to ponder and pray with.
Is love a one-way street?
Does love go both ways?
Would we love God just to get results in our lives,
to have an easier life?
May I suggest a regular “Love letter to God.”
(Maybe a daily entry, loving God as We are loved.)
What would your letter say?
Christ Jesus loved God.
Mrs. Eddy love God.
Were their lives their love letter to God?
Is your?

This year’s focus of study comes from my experience. Steady spiritual progress is achieved by
steady study, and this is transforming. This is on-going, not simply up to Association, but going
beyond it for as long as you choose. Hopefully, you will carry this through to completion.
I’m going to ask that beginning in Science and Health and Prose Works, each day we
continuously read, from beginning of the book to the end, TWO pages. Make notes, research
at least one word, perhaps keep a journal, write or record at least one helpful idea. This is an
assignment too small to resist and enormous in its rewards.*

And if interested, I am going to encourage that we individually undertake a course in reading
the Bible in a year. There are many available books that are structured to do this at Amazon.
The one I am reading includes each day, chronologically beginning from Genesis in the Old
Testament, and from Matthew in the New Testament. Then part of a Psalm and a Proverb. The
continuity of reading this way is most helpful and inspiring. The New Living Translation is a
good one.

Also may I suggest reading “The Greatest Thing in the World,” by Henry Drummonds. It is
such a pure sense of living love.

All of these suggestions are designed to promote our individual spiritual progress. As students
of this beloved Christ Science, we receive the most benefit from regular study and dedication
to our Leader’s instruction and example.

Enjoy what you discover. Will love to hear from you!!

Bless you for your faithful love and lives!

* From one individual who started the assignment: “I am certain that you are praying to see us
all right now “receptive and obedient to Truth”! After I read your assignment I wondered how
I could follow your instructions in reading the SH and Prose Works during [our busy
schedule]. I thought that if it was a simpler assignment with a topic that I could more easily
do it! Hi! I dropped the subject and let God show me what was right. During the night I
came to my office and started to read 2 pages in SH and Prose Works and I saw that it was
“simple” and very gratifying. I felt that so many words were being seen with new eyes. Then
I saw that I could reorganize a few things …. to include these two books in a larger size and
the ideas of how to do it were simple. So thanks for pushing us forward to be receptive.”
(Loved the response! Blessings abound!)

parking tag on your window. Proceed to parking lot D. The Cooperage Building is directly
across the street from Parking Lot D. (Note: Your paid parking for Friday night will be usable for
24 hours and should be good for Saturday as well). If you elected to stay on campus your

Association Contributions

Contributions are voluntary but important as they meet all the expenses of this organization. For
those who make a contribution this year, we request one payment to cover both your
Association contribution and lunch. Payments can be made via check, PayPal, or cash. A
minimum of $100 per attendee is recommended. The box lunch is automatically included in
Association day as part of the expense for using the Cooperage building. The lunch is $20.
(Since the lunch is not a donation, please remember to reduce the amount of the $20 lunch if
you claim your donation as a tax deduction.)
If you are electing Sonoma State on-campus housing, you may include the housing, Association
day lunch, and annual Association day contribution all in one payment.
Contributions will be used to make an annual contribution to the following four funds:

• The Mother Church.
• The Mary Baker Eddy Library for the Betterment of Humanity Fund.
• General Fund – This covers all operating expenses for the Association.
• Pupils’ Aid Fund – This helps with expenses regarding Association attendees, i.e.,
travel, lodging, if needed.

Please Help Us Out and Pay in Advance!

It would be very helpful for attendees to pay in advance. Paying early would help to streamline
the sign-in process on Association day so all students can focus on the gift of Association. This
year we are asking students and attendees to please pay in advance either by mailing a check
(preferred option) or via – Pay Pal. Payment is being accepted now.

2016 Location Change for DeBolt Association

This letter is specifically about housing options:
Immediate action required!!

Other Association Day Information is provided in the attached document titled “Association
Day General Details.”

We’re excited to tell you about our new location for Association this year.
We will be meeting at Sonoma State University in Rohnert Park. Our Friday night
gathering and Saturday’s Association Day meeting will be held at the Cooperage Building right
on campus. (More details to follow.)

All our focus is to support our Saturday Association Meeting. So the days from Friday
afternoon to Saturday will be on the campus location. This is an energizing, teaching
environment. We’re hoping you will also see this an an opportunity for a weekend of prayer
and inspiration, continuing as always, to strengthen our love and practice of Christian Science
in our Association community. Then we take this forward in our lives as healers in our
communities.

We are delighted to let you know that to support all this, there is convenient, affordable oncampus
housing available to us.

We are writing today to give you this information. However, to have the housing available to
us, we have to reserve rooms at the university by end of April.

Here are the facts:

One of the reasons for this relocation is to find more reasonable prices for
accommodations. We have been working with the university to have apartments
available for us. They are able to put us all in the same complex which is an easy, level,
five-minute walk to the Cooperage Building where the Friday night get-together and
Saturday Association activities will be held. Any needs to get to and from the housing
to the Cooperage building will be provided.

The Beaujolais rooms are apartment suites with four individual, single-bed rooms, each
individually keyed, with its own bathroom. Each apartment has a shared kitchen and
living-room. (The kitchen is un-appointed – you will need to bring any pots, plates,
silverware, or cooking utensils)

The room fee is $80/night with a 2 night minimum; which includes linens, (sheets,
blankets, towels) and includes a $5/day parking fee. So the total cost for
accommodations is $160 for Friday and Saturday. Included in this is access to the
recreation building and two pools. (One night only is not an option.) *
For other meals there is dining on-campus: Door rate: Breakfast – $11; Lunch –
$12.75; Dinner – $15. The restaurant offers lots of options including a salad bar, a grill,
pizza, Asian wok-style food, desserts, ice cream and more.

There is a bookstore in the Student Center which has snacks and toiletries.

The university requires advance reservations for the campus housing by the end of the
month.

Within the next week, of this works for you, please contact Linda Bishop right away to
reserve your space and for information. This an a great opportunity.
sarasfarm2@aol.com or call or text 831-596-4092.

We do need to pay in advance. You can pay via Pam’s Association Paypal account (we can
provide the link via email)/or you could send a check to Jan Lister, Treasurer. We need to
reserve these rooms soon. So we need an answer by April 25. Or right away. And payment
promptly. This will reserve you room!

Pay by Check If you prefer to send a check, please make the check payable to
“Association of Pupils of Pamela DeBolt, C.S.B.” Send the check to:
